BSE-NSE bulk deals: Vedanta Holdings Mauritius buys over 18 crore shares of Vedanta

Vedanta Holdings Mauritius II on Thursday bought 7.35 crore shares of Vedanta in a bulk deal on the NSE. It also purchased additional 11.14 crore shares of Vedanta on the BSE. In another deal, SBI Life Insurance purchased 38 lakh shares of Paisalo Digital. Mr Bectors Food, Aptech, Agro Phos India and Global Education also witnessed bulk deals.

Earlier in the day, the benchmark equity indices marched higher for the third session on the trot, propelled by Reliance Industries and financial stocks, amid a positive trend in global markets.

The 30-share BSE Sensex surged 529.36 points or 1.14 per cent to close at 46,973.54. The broader NSE Nifty zoomed 148.15 points or 1.09 per cent to 13,749.25.

>> Vedanta Holdings Mauritius II bought 7,35,79,000 shares of Vedanta at Rs 159.91 per share on the NSE, while it purchased 11,14,21,000 shares of the company at Rs 159.96 per share on the BSE.

>> SBI Life Insurance purchased 38,00,000 shares of Paisalo Digital at Rs 490 per share. Heshika Growth Fund sold 8,00,000 shares of the company at Rs 490 per share. Elara India Opportunities also sold 11,00,000 shares of Paisalo Digital at Rs 490.

>> East India Udyog purchased 81,600 shares of Softtech Engineer at Rs 80 per share.
