Jaguar Land Rover not impacted by border disruptions in the UK: Tata Motors

Mumbai: The disruptions at British ports due to the attempts to contain the new coronavirus strain found in the UK will have no immediate impact on Jaguar Land Rover, parent Tata Motors said in a statement.

“Recent issues at UK ports have had no immediate impact for Jaguar Land Rover. Our guidance of improved growth, profitability and cash flows in second half of the year continues to hold,” the statement read.

The company said that Jaguar Land Rover had “comprehensive contingency planning and actions in place to respond to ongoing COVID challenges and disruption.”

France had closed its border with the UK on Monday resulting in hundreds of trucks being stranded in England, unable to cross the English Channel. While the border has been reopened after 48 hours, only drivers with a negative Covid-19 test were being let onto ferries and the backlog could take several days to clear, the Financial Times reported.

The stock of Tata Motors gained almost 4% to close at Rs 175.9 per share on the BSE on Thursday.
