Mumbai: Among the key bulk and block deals on Monday, Societe Generale sold 90,00,000 shares of ICICI Bank worth Rs 341 crore. Wadia group companies Bombay Burmah Trading and The Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Co saw inter-company and promoter holdings being rejigged. Rural Electrification Corp also trimmed its stake in Indian Energy Exchange (IEX).

Benchmark equity indices rallied for the third straight session, mirroring the gains in global peers, as sentiment was upbeat after US regulators authorized the use of blood plasma from recovered patients as a treatment option.

BSE’s Sensex rose nearly 1 per cent to close at 38,799, while NSE’s Nifty climbed 0.8 per cent to close at 11,466.

Here’s who bought and sold what in some of the key bulk and block deals of the day:
>> Promoter Nowrosjee Wadia & Sons bought 1,45,000 shares of Bombay Burmah Trading Corp from The Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Co at Rs 1,463.20. Also, Bombay Burmah Trading Co bought 30,00,000 shares of Bombay Dyeing from Nowrosjee Wadia & Sons at Rs 71.20 per share.

As of June 30, Nowrosjee Wadia & Sons held 35.94 per cent and 1.66 per cent stakes in Bombay Burmah and Bombay Dyeing respectively.

Bombay Dyeing held 6.67 per cent stake in Bombay Burmah, while Bombay Burmah owned 15.28 per cent of Bombay Dyeing.

>> Societe Generale sold 90,00,000 shares of ICICI Bank worth Rs 341 crore, which were bought by Merrill Lynch Markets Singapore at Rs 378.60 per share.

>> REC sold 25,00,000 shares of IEX at Rs 190 per share, while PPFAS Mutual Fund lapped up 24,84,686 shares of the company at the same price. As at June end, REC held 4.1 per cent stake in the company.

>> Acacia Partners sold 1,79,826 shares of Panasonic Energy India Co at Rs 174.27 per share.

>> Norwest Venture Partners VII-A Mauritius sold 1,19,00,000 shares of Sadbhav Infrastructure Project at Rs 15.01 per share, while Meena Ashwin Kothari bought 27,00,000 shares of the company at Rs 15 per share. At the end of June, Norwest Partners held 8.27 per cent stake in the company.

>> Habrok India LP and Parikh Amee H sold shares of Ramco Systems while Premier Capital & Securities and Swapnil Mehta bought the same.
