NEW DELHI: Auto stocks were trading on a positive note at 12:23PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of Maruti Suzuki (up 3.14 per cent), Bharat Forge (up 2.47 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 2.01 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.04 per cent) and TVS Motor Company (up 0.6 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Balkrishna Industries (down 1.22 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 1.1 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.85 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (down 0.39 per cent) and Bajaj Auto (down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.77 per cent up at 8111.65 around 12:23PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 123.75 points at 11403.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 443.05 points at 38547.89.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, YES Bank, Bharti Infratel and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of AstraZeneca, Adani Gas Ltd., Amber Enterprises India Ltd., Timken India and Vodafone Idea hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Vasa Retail & Overseas Ltd., Aaron Industries Ltd. and Kuantum Papers Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
