Stock market update: Bank stocks gain; Bandhan Bank climbs nearly 4%

NEW DELHI: Bank stocks were trading on a positive note at 11:12AM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Bandhan Bank (up 3.61 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 3.0 per cent), State Bank of India (up 2.36 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 2.12 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 1.86 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.83 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 0.14 per cent) and Federal Bank (down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.82 per cent up at 23605.45 around 11:12AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 48.25 points at 11597.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 183.06 points at 39256.98.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, YES Bank, DLF and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Central Depository Services (India) Ltd., Atul Ltd, Indiabulls Ventures, Strides Shasun and Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
