Stock market update: BSE MidCap index gains 1%; IDBI Bank soars 10%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE MidCap index was trading on a positive note at 01:32PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of IDBI Bank (up 9.91 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (up 7.27 per cent), Page Industries (up 6.49 per cent), Honeywell Automation India (up 6.15 per cent) and Whirlpool of India (up 5.42 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While KIOCL (down 4.91 per cent), Future Retail (down 2.7 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (down 2.47 per cent), Kansai Nerolac Paints (down 1.13 per cent) and National Aluminium Company (down 0.9 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 1.05 per cent up at 15025.15 around 01:32PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 89.00 points at 11401.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 303.83 points at 38524.22.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Future Retail Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of BASF India, Aarti Drugs, Affle (India) Ltd., Laurus Labs Ltd. and Firstsource Sol hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Panth Infinity Ltd., Svaraj Trading & Agencies Ltd., Unishire Urban Infra Ltd., SC Agrotech Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd., Siel Financial Services Ltd., Libord Finance Ltd., Suryo Foods & Industries Ltd., Shri Niwas Leasing and Finance Ltd. and Meera Industries Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
