NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading on a positive note at 01:42PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of BASF India (up 20.0 per cent), Bhansali Engineering Polymers (up 18.64 per cent), VA Tech Wabag (up 17.84 per cent), Somany Ceramics (up 15.01 per cent) and RSWM Ltd (up 14.99 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Fairchem Speciality (down 18.0 per cent), Future Consumer (down 4.98 per cent), Vikas Ecotech (down 4.97 per cent), Ballarpur Industries (down 4.95 per cent) and Titagarh Wagons (down 4.73 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 1.8 per cent up at 14681.26 around 01:42PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 84.30 points at 11396.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 290.22 points at 38510.61.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Future Retail Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of BASF India, Aarti Drugs, Affle (India) Ltd., Laurus Labs Ltd. and Alkyl Amines hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Panth Infinity Ltd., Svaraj Trading & Agencies Ltd., Unishire Urban Infra Ltd., SC Agrotech Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd., Siel Financial Services Ltd., Libord Finance Ltd., Suryo Foods & Industries Ltd., Shri Niwas Leasing and Finance Ltd. and Meera Industries Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
