NEW DELHI: S&P BSE Telecom index was trading with losses at 02:16PM (IST) on Friday.
Shares of Optiemus Infracom (down 4.96 per cent), HFCL Ltd (down 3.75 per cent), Vodafone Idea (down 2.55 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (down 2.11 per cent) and Reliance Communications (down 1.65 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
While Tejas Network (up 4.93 per cent), OnMobile Global (up 4.88 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (up 2.74 per cent), ITI (up 1.07 per cent) and Tata Communications (up 0.95 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 1.3 per cent down at 1284.24 around 02:16PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 137.10 points at 11390.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 470.51 points at 38520.43.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 5 were trading in the green, while 45 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, Shilpa Medicare and IDFC First Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Granules India, AstraZeneca, Timken India, Amber Enterprises India Ltd. and Adani Gas Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Jinaams Dress Ltd., Darshan Orna Ltd., Majestic Research Services & Solutions Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd., Helpage Finlease Ltd. and Libord Finance Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
