NEW DELHI: Commodities stocks were trading higher at 02:28PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of NHPC (up 12.44 per cent), Tata Power Company (up 8.64 per cent), NTPC (up 6.34 per cent), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (up 3.9 per cent) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 3.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Hindustan Zinc (down 3.5 per cent), Coromandel International (down 1.49 per cent), Reliance Industries (down 1.34 per cent), UPL Ltd (down 1.31 per cent) and UltraTech Cement (down 1.07 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Commodities index was trading 1.28 per cent up at 3253.85 around 02:28PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 91.30 points at 11317.1, while the BSE Sensex was down 372.11 points at 38242.68.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Zee Ent., Vodafone Idea, Tata Power and NTPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Aditya Birla Fashion (PP), ABB Power Products, Essel Propack, Torrent Power and JSPL hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while CKP Leisure Ltd., SMVD Poly Pack Ltd., IRIS Clothings Ltd. and CKP Products Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
