Stock market update: FMCG stocks advance; Jubilant Foodworks rises over 2%

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading on a positive note at 01:53PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Jubilant Foodworks (up 2.21 per cent), Tata Consumer Products (up 1.76 per cent), United Spirits (up 1.18 per cent), Colgate Palmolive (India) (up 1.02 per cent) and VBL (up 0.85 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Godrej Consumer Products (down 2.8 per cent), United Breweries (down 1.34 per cent), Emami (down 1.23 per cent), P & G Hygiene (down 0.48 per cent) and Britannia Industries (down 0.12 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.52 per cent up at 33064.05 around 01:53PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 69.65 points at 14745.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 143.92 points at 49888.24.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, Tata Motors, ONGC and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Hindustan Copper, Aditya Birla Capital, Hindalco Industries, Tanla Solutions and Hindustan Foods hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade.
